First Day in Computer Lab

Congratulations on finding the blog! Add it to your favorites. Then look over to the right and click on the link "Formatting your Document." Open up a Word document and get started. When you are done email me a copy for a classwork grade. Then get started writing your paper. Feel free to enjoy a little Keyboard Cat before you get started.

Sources for Reliable Sources :0)

It is important to have reliable sources for your paper.  Your finished paper can only be as good as the information you put into it.

The following sites can lead you to reliable academic sources.  They do the hard work of checking for reliability for you. You must use at least two of these or a book or magazine in your paper.

elibrary and EBSCO:  access these through the links on the CRHS Media Center page. Copy and paste your MLA citations directly into your Works Cited list!!!  Too easy!

findarticles.com: search for academic articles here.  Again, copy and paste MLA citations!!

schoolr.com this is a search engine designed by Google for academic research.

procon.org this is a great place to look for persuasive topics.  It gives you both sides of controversial issues and excellent sources to get you started.

Books are a terrific sources as are printed magazines and journals. No need to check the reliability of these, the publishers do it for you!

Of course you can use Google.com , but you must check your sources.  Use the presentation Evaluating Your Sources on this blog and pages 3 and 4 in your packet.
